With Pesach approaching the number of travelers passing through Ben-Gurion International Airport is expected to increase by 14% with 1.1 million passengers expected to pass through the airport during the yomtov season. Airport officials report there will be 6,900 flights, representing a 15% increase from last year.
Officials explain on Thursday, 13 Nissan, 71,000 passengers will pass in and out of the airport. On Thursday 20 Nissan 67,700 passengers will travel through the airport and on Sunday, 23 Nissan the number given is 77,200. Most popular destinations among Israeli travelers are Turkey, Greece, Italy and the United States.
