Mr. Herzl Shaul, who has been diagnosed with cancer, calls on the Government of Israel to expedite efforts to bring the remains of his son Sgt. Oron, back home for kvuras yisrael.

Sgt. Oron Shaul HY”D was one of the Golani soldiers killed in fighting in Gaza in July 2014. Mr. Herzl, who was diagnosed with the illness months ago, explains the stress surrounding the matter of the return of his son’s body significantly contributed to the deterioration in his health.

Mr. Herzl adds that despite the fact he and his wife reluctantly accepted the official IDF ruling that his son had been killed and they sat shiva. However, he explains his wife really believes their son is still alive. He stated that after seeing the evidence presented to them by the IDF regarding their son and Lt. Hadar Goldin HY”D, he is certain the two were killed and he calls on the government to expedite bringing back their bodies for burial.
