While Israel maintains its marine blockade on Gaza, it has decided to return boats that were confiscated. Incidents occur almost daily in which Arab fisherman violate the no-fishing area and at times, boats are confiscated. These vessels have been returned by the IDF.

IDF officials explain that none of the boats returned have played any role in acts of terror. In the last year the IDF has returned 44 boats that were confiscated for violating IDF regulations.
