Israel calls on the PA (Palestinian Authority) to take genuine steps towards peace, that simply releasing statements of wishing to negotiate an agreement is insufficient. Israel condemns the latest announced planned PA move, to turn to the UN Security Council in the hope of the international body condemning Israel’s continued construction “Throughout the West Bank and East Jerusalem”.

The PA has also announced it plans to bring another case against Israel to the International Criminal Court in The Hague pertaining to the IDF soldier who shot and killed a wounded terrorist in Hebron on Purim.

In response to PA actions Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu said, “Abu Mazen is taking a step that will push negotiations further away. The only way to advance peace is by direct negotiations and Abu Mazen is avoiding this. The Palestinians educate their children on a daily basis that the settlements are Tel Aviv, Haifa and Acre.”
