Haifa Mayor Yonah Yahav visited the home of Maran Rishon L’Tzion HaRav Ovadia Yosef Shlita, accompanied by Rav Avraham Weizman, who heads the Haifa Local Religious Council. The meeting focused on ongoing efforts to construct a sephardi talmud torah in Haifa, who have been learning under harsh conditions for years.

Mayor Yahav explained the necessary funds have been allocated and a spacious building will be constructed.

Rav Weizman also discussed ongoing efforts to refurbish the city’s ancient cemetery in coordination with Religious Affairs Minister Yaakov Margi.
