Addressing students at an event marking the new academic year, Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan told his audience to take an example from the Jews to learn how one makes money, adding the Jews do so through wise real estate investments and by achievements in the sciences.

He told the university audience by his late Jewish friend, a businessman who was stabbed to death in 2001, who explained to him that throughout history the Jews were oppressed and that compelled them to become high achievers and excel. “The Jewish People have had many achievements in the sciences and as a result, earned a great deal of money from those achievements”.

He added that earlier in his career, as mayor of Istanbul, who studied the Jewish community. He spoke of his research and what he has learned; telling the young audience that most Jews did not purchase property but rented in the most upscale areas, explaining the Jews believe by buying the properties the money would be lost. He added that “we on the other hand spend every last coin on buying a home”.

He went on to explain that he is angry at the Israeli administration for not acting fairly towards the Arab people, but stressed he has always been opposed to anti-Semitism, and has acted openly against any such actions as prime minister, adding anti-Semitism is a crime against humanity.
