Israelis Under Investigation for Spying Against Romania’s Chief Anticorruption Directorate Prosecutor


spyRomanian media reports state that four Israelis area under investigation for spying against the Chief Prosecutor of the country’s National Anticorruption Directorate (DNA) Laura Kovesi Codruţa. According to an official from Romania’s Directorate for the Investigation of Organized Crime and Terrorism, the probe is in an early stage.

Two of the suspects are reportedly former members of the Israeli intelligence community, Avi Yanus and Dan Zorella. They are also cofounders of Black Cube; an intelligence company who president was recently-deceased former Mossad Director Meir Dagan. They are being investigated along with two other Black Cube employees, Ron Weiner and David Geclowicz who have already been arrested.

They are accused of harassment, making threatening phone calls, internet phishing attacks, and compromising email accounts and other private information.

Black Cube on its website describes the company as “a select group of veterans from the Israeli elite intelligence units that specializes in tailored solutions to complex business and litigation challenges.”
