Ferocious winds blew though the tri-state Wednesday, leading to numerous traffic and transit delays, both on the ground and in the air, and causing many to have their hands full dealing with the damage and debris left behind.
Many people had some type of damage to their Sukkahs, and people returning from Chool Hamoed outings had their hands full trying to repair their Sukkahs.
Air traffic at La Guardia saw delays of up to nearly two hours early Wednesday evening, while flights headed to Newark Liberty International Airport experienced delays up to about 9 minutes. Travelers headed to John F. Kennedy International Airport had delays of up to about an hour and 10 minutes.
Meanwhile, a wind warning was issued from the City Buildings Department. The agency is advising city builders, contractors, and property owners to secure their construction sites and buildings.
With the high winds hitting the area, everything from construction equipment to trash cans and outdoor furniture needs to be stored or tied down. If you see a location that’s not property secured, you’re urged to call 311.

“Wicked winds” – does YWN really believe that the wind is capable of discerning good and evil (and frankly, people in the home repair business probably see such winds as a bracha)
akuperma, do you have anything better to do than unimpress us with odd sense of humor?
#1, I think its more rhetorical than literal. I do like the headlines alliteration of W’s and M’s. It is clever. Poetic.
Its Chol Hamoed. Not ChoOl.
IT IS THE WINDS OF MOSHIACH COMING, IT’S A WAKE UP CALL.
