Chief Rabbi Dovid Lau Shlita answered Moriya Ettinger’s request for assistance and sent a letter to the Israeli Prison Service Commissioner, Lieutenant-General Ofra Klinger, requesting that Meir Ettinger be allowed to participate in his firstborn son’s bris milah.
In his letter Rabbi Lau wrote that, “The bris milah is one of the most important commandments of the Jewish People and serves as testimony to the covenant between the Jewish People and G-d. It is one of the most special ceremonies in a father’s life and there is no doubt that not participating in his son’s bris milah is liable to cause him sorrow for the rest of his life.”
In conclusion the Chief Rabbi requested that Lieutenant General Klinger, “make every effort to find a way to allow Mr. Ettinger to participate in his son’s bris milah, of course while maintaining the needs and demands of security and adhering to the relevant regulations.”

Sounds like Bolshevik Russia.
He is being held under administrative detention for his words and actions which threaten national security…this is not some country club where those being detained can come and go for family simchas. Actions have consequences and his actions put him in this situation and don’t warrant special treatment.
The great Zionist enterprise at work, forcibly preventing a young father from attending the bris of his bechor by refusing a request for a short prison furlough. His crime: oh nothing, he has not been charged with any crime, still less convicted. Zionism in action.
