Jerusalem Father Receives Community Service for Trying to Sell Infant Daughter to Cover Debts


chnA 30-year-old Jerusalem man tried selling his three-month-old daughter for NIS 100,000 to cover his debts, as was reported by YWN-ISRAEL. He was unaware that he was making the sale to an undercover officer. He was sentenced to six months of community service and pay a NIS 7,000 fine.

The Jerusalem Magistrate Court handed down its verdict on Thursday, 21 Adar-II, and while the prosecution called for imprisoning the defendant, the court decided to go with community service.
