Health Ministry officials 350,000 doses of swine flu vaccinations are expected to arrive in Israel in October. By the end of the year (Gregorian calendar), 1.75 million doses are expected and a total of 2.3 million doses are expected by March 2010.
The ministry ordered vaccines from three companies, based in Britain, Switzerland and France. There is also the possibility of increasing the order to 8 million doses, and talks between the ministry and an American firm are ongoing.
According to the report appearing in HaMevaser, the first doses will be allocated to the chronically ill, beginning with infants, followed by members of the medical community, who are of course at higher risk.
