With major military exercises underway, Iran continues to brazenly confront Israel and Western nations in the political arena by its defiance of United Nations sanctions and political statements.

Iran over recent days has launched sophisticated ballistic missiles which by all expert accounts, are capable of striking Israeli and American targets in the Mideast.

Iranian Defense Minister Vahidi stated that an Israeli attack against Iran will “expedite the Zionist regime’s last breath”, seeking to deter Israeli thoughts of an offensive. Shihab-3 and Sejil ballistic missiles were fired, but Israeli experts played down the Iranian statements, explaining there is nothing new regarding the missiles fired, stating these are old missiles and Israel is aware of their existence for some time.

The missiles in question are capable of carrying a nuclear warhead to a target 2,000 kilometers (1,200 miles) away, enough to strike at the heart of Israel.
