Israeli Minister: We Must Ask Arabs for Forgiveness

hamas1.jpgThe old saying “With friends like these who needs enemies” definitely applies to at least one Israeli cabinet minister, Avishai Braverman.

Minister of Minority Affairs (Kadima) Dr. Avishai Braverman called on the government to ask forgiveness from the Arabs before Yom Kippur. The minister is calling for a turn-around in Israel’s attitude towards the Arab community, particularly the Bedouins. He sent his greetings to the leaders of the Bedouin community during a visit.

During the visit to the Bedouin sector the minister took a first-hand look at the problems facing the community, including primitive infrastructure in many communities, which are not hooked into the national water and electric grid. The Bedouins are viewed differently by many, since they serve in the IDF, but there are those who point out the Bedouin community at large continues to systematically takeover southern Israeli areas and is behind major widespread illegal construction that undermines the Jewish future of the southern areas.

  1. Its erev Yom Kipur, why cant we be honest?
We have certainly hurt the Arabs in various ways over the years. it would be the right thing to apologize for what we’ve done, or at least for what we MAY have done. It will also show the world that the Jews are noble people & willing to admit their faults.
I know you’re thinking, but look what the Arabs have done to us!!! This does not negate our sacred responsibility to do whats right & what the Torah tells us to do.

  2. avrohom,
What the Torah tells us to do? Actually, the Torah tells us not to try to make peace with these guys, and that whoever does, just ends up with Bizyonos.

  3. after davening on yom kippur i cant imagine how someone would think that we should apologize or ask for forgiveness from our enamys.i guess we are our own worst enamys and this is why mosiach is not coming..not because of the arabs its all just because of the people that think we should ask them for forgivness.

  4. braverman and avrohom are mental cases you believe in avenu malkaynu chatanu lefanecha yishmael. bjiks you two fools, tipshim noraim

  5. #$ just because you add the word ‘sacred’ it doesnt become so. do you have a complex being jewish that you want to ‘show’ the world.also where in the torah does it say so?

  6. #8 ‘yishmael did tsuvah’ . only yismael not his offspring. see rashi ‘vayishmah hashem el kol hanar basher hu shom’ . and if the torah say v’hu yiyah persah ado’ thats nitzchias, eternal. look up what the holy chafetz chaim warned one of his talmudim (?)about yishmael before he moved to eretz yisroel

  7. Even if someone made up a lie that they were the guilty party and apologized just to bring peace, it is foolish to apply that to the arabs as a people. Its like bringing a hamburger to a lion thinking it would satisfy their appetite and you will then be safe in it’s presence.
