[UPDATE BELOW] At least nine policemen were among 25+ people injured in clashes on Har HaBayis on Sunday morning, erev Yom Kippur.
A number of visitors on the Mount were surrounded by over 150 Muslims, who began shouting at them and throwing rocks. Police moved in to extricate the intended victims. The policemen were transported to Shaare Zedek Medical Center and Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospitals, reportedly with light injuries.
Security in the Old City and surrounding areas remains high as Israel prepares for Yom Kippur. Residents of PA (Palestinian Authority) autonomous areas remain under a closure until after Yom Kippur, preventing them from entering Green Line pre-1967 areas.
Police detained a number of those who took part in the violence.
Rock-throwing attacks were also reported on streets of the Old City. No injuries were reported. Police reinforcements were brought in, hoping to bring an end to the violence ahead of Yom Kippur, seeking to ensure mispalalim can observe the day without threats of violence or injury from Islamic anti-Semites.

A gas station in the French Hill area of the city appears to be up in flames as a result of arson.
