On Tuesday, September 29, the day after Yom Kippur, there will be a special run-off to determine the Democratic Party’s candidates in the upcoming November election for two citywide offices: Comptroller and Public Advocate.
The two candidates for Comptroller are City Councilmen John Liu and David Yassky. The two candidates for Public Advocate are City Councilman Bill de Blasio and former- Public Advocate Mark Green.
These are extremely important positions in the hierarchy of New York City government. Both the Comptroller and the Public Advocate are in a position to make decisions and influence policy that can have a major impact on our community.
Gedolei Yisroel over the years have repeatedly emphasized the importance of voting. As someone who works with government officials on behalf of our community, I can attest from personal experience how much more powerful our voice becomes when the community makes its presence felt in the voting booths. In this run-off especially, in which the overall turnout is expected to be light, each and every vote can make a real difference.
So please, this coming Tuesday, September 29, take a few moments to cast your vote in the special run-off for the Democratic Party nominations for Comptroller and Public Advocate.
Many thanks, and best wishes to one and all for a gmar chasima tova.

Our Community endorsed Yassky – community spokesman said ‘important major influencial job on how monies are spent, Yassky good for NY, will influence other cities, good for Israel.’
