PM Cognizant of Difficulties Implementing New Kosel Arrangements

koselAs chareidi parties continue to pressure Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu regarding recent advances for the Reform Movement, Mr. Netanyahu on Sunday, 17 Adar-II released a statement to the media acknowledging the difficulties of the situation.

The Prime Minister stated, “Approximately two months ago, the Cabinet decided to implement the recommendations of the advisory committee on prayer arrangements at the Kosel.

“Since then, several difficulties have arisen. We are working to resolve them.

“I would like to reiterate my commitment to resolve the issue of prayer arrangements at the Kosel in the aforesaid direction.

“To this end, I have decided to appoint the head of the Prime Minister’s bureau, David Sharan, to coordinate discussions on this issue with the various elements and to present – within 60 days – a recommendation on the steps necessary to resolve the difficulties, according to the solution that has been proposed.”

On Monday afternoon 18 Adar-II, the Moetzas Gedolei Yisrael of Agudas Yisrael is set to convene, at which time the admorim shlita will address the situation and reaffirm their position, absolutely no compromise that will add any measure of legitimacy and acceptance to any non-frum stream of Yiddishkheit.

  1. The so called “difficulties” are the refusal of one side to accept the need for a compromise that the government has already committed to. Its not clear what purpose will be served by the rabbunim shlita meeting to discuss what is a fait acompli’. Lets move on to focus on the multiple real issues confronting the tzibur from national security, constant terrorist threats, growing unemployment and poverty among the chareidi community etc. and stop obsessing about a bunch of misguided yidden davening in their own way near the kosel

  2. “…absolutely no compromise that will add any measure of legitimacy and acceptance to any non-frum stream of Yiddishkheit.”

Reform is not a non-frum “stream” of Yiddishkheit, Reform is not Yiddishkheit, Reform is not Judaism. Reform is a made up, phony religious cult that attached itself, for self-serving purposes to Judaism.

    Reform is not Judaism.
