Today is the 2nd Yartzheit of Hagoen R Eliezer Geldtzahler ZATZAL Rosh Yeshivas Or Yisroel. The Yartzheit Seudah is taking place today in Yeshivas Or Yisroel in Canarsie, after which the Yeshiva will travel to his Kever at the Viznitzer Bais Hakvaros in Monsey.

I learned with Rav Lezer zt”l bechavrusa in South Fallsberg over 30 years ago. He was so full of life, enthusiasm and simcha, it was contagious. I was a “kalta litvak”and he introduced me the “varme” world of Chassidim. He created a perfect fusion of the Litvishe Ahavas HaTorah and the chassideshe Ahavas Hashem and Ahavas Yisroel. It’s hard to believe that this special Yid so full of zest is no longer physically here. May we be zocha to techiyas hameisim very soon, so his family, talmidim and friends can once again enjoy his company.
