As someone who continuously calls for scaling down our dependency on government programs and not resorting to shtick, in this case I smell a rat of anti-Semitism and mesirah fabricated with lies.
The E-rate program is the government’s reimbursement of Internet, COMPUTER AND TELECOMMUNICATIONS provided to schools.
The viscious media who will pounce on anything that can they sensationalize and bring them ratings and viewers and therefore they are hlighting the fact that Chassidim don’t have internet access. First of all, that is not always the case, certain yeshivas do have some internet access. But that is beside the point.
What they are not pointing out is that EVERY yeshiva has phones lines and phones and THAT is what they are being reimbursed for. In addition, all these computers and hard drives are being reimbursed by the E-Rate program.
I highly doubt anyone will be arrested.
But the frum community can learn from this that anything to do with government assistance should be taken very seriously as the government can be very viscious, together with the media, even against innocents people.
This is where the “snake bites it’s own tail” . Instead of preaching louder and louder to “fear” technology and hate technology to the point that the nations know how dilapudated our opinion on modern tech is we should preach control and proper use of technology thus not having the need to be raided.you don’t need to go to a gadol or be a gadol to acknowledge basic common sense.
There would be tremendous benefit to this kehilla, and all our kehillos of whatever stripe and location, if one of our askanim would take upon himself the responsibility of educating the tzibbur in a simple action that will save us from causing chillul Hash-m R”L.
People must learn not to congregate and gawk when there’s “action” in their neighborhoods. Stay inside. Stay away.Find more productive ways to spend your time than standing around and gaping when law enforcement or other persons of interest show up in your neighborhoods.
The filming of people in full chareidi levush at crime scenes (or potential crime scenes) hanging out and staring as if they have no more beneficial occupation, makes us all look like imbeciles. We must project the image of the Am Kadosh that we all aspire to be.
Ouy Vey
Whoa number 2 you are so off mark. Wow!
KoachYah, someone who says the internet is not something to be feared is someone I might suspect of not having yiras shomayim. The internet in inundated with images that years ago would be called pornography. Even filtered internet manages to have garbage sweeping through. The internet is a minefield that one must navigate very carefully. And if you lose your fear, you lose your caution.
It is absolutely insane how “heimishe” frum parents give their children phones with Internet access, oftentimes unfiltered! They are butchering their own kids.
In any case, this has absolutely no bearing in this case where money alloted by the E-Rate program could be used for all kinds of technology, besides for internet use.
#2 is right you cant have it both ways.
Nobody is right or wrong. Nobody knows what the government is really after until or unless they make an arrest and accuse someone of some wrongdoing. Right now everyone is speculating which is likely nothing more than rechilus.
1# you right most of the money is going to telecommunication intercom and so
3# this was in yeshivos and cheidorim and they send out all the kids and bachurim who are learning there
it was very bad way they work in front of kids they told the rebbes to stay out with the hand high
Ok , reality check: we now have and are growing way passed from the digital age to the “smart age” as we moved from the industrial revolution as much as we wanted to stay in the “shtettle” we took those trains as much as we wanted to use those trains we use planes what I’m saying is that technology will grow it will be apart of our everyday life to make life EASIER to serve GD and spread Torah because it’s in our nature and nature is the handiwork of GD, Hashem hu haelokim. Nature nurtures man to help and make life simple because torah is TAM (simple) don’t make it difficult and you won’t have a chillul such as this one.
dilapadated..
how many gemaras would you lke me to site that talks about running away from nesayon as far as possible. you also say it every day i hope velo leydei nisayon. or are those gemaras out of touch and not as up to date with the modern times as you are
preach control. when was the last time dilapadated, you were able to control the yeitzer harah of taavah when he came over you. and you are preaching controlling ourselves.. that is more delapidated than anything else ive heard lately.
So run from your fridge, run from your computer, run from your car, run from this planet because it’s modernized with technology? That is NOT TORAH!
philosopher says:The E-rate program is the government’s reimbursement of Internet, COMPUTER AND TELECOMMUNICATIONS
to provide internet service to the end users students and in the classroom and community you left that out.
peakman, you are ignorant about the E-Rate program and yet decided to post “information” about it.
The E-Rate program is a government funded program that reimburses certain TECHNOLOGY for schools. The technology encompasses fire alarm systems, computers, telecommunication, including cell phones, and internet access. This program is NOT exclusively for funding for internet access.
You should make a din v’cheshbon why it makes you happy to condemn others without having sufficient knowledge and certainly no proof of their wrongdoing.
