It was around midnight when some of the bochrim in Mir Brachfeld began experiencing burning eyes and difficulty breathing, which eventually led to dozens of bochrim having to evacuate the beis medresh. Rescue officials were summoned and they quickly determined that someone released pepper spray or teargas in the building.

Hatzolah volunteers responded and treated those requiring first aid. There were no reports of anyone requiring transport to a hospital.
