The annual International Jerusalem Marathon will take place this Friday, 8 Adar-II. Over 25,000 runners are expected to compete with 2,500 runners joining from over 60 countries from around the world. Runners will be racing in a range of competitions including a full marathon, a half marathon, a 10k, and a range of community and family events.
The race will result in changes in traffic and public transportation on erev Shabbos in the capital and persons are advised to check the Jerusalem Municipality website.
Race start times are as follows:
Half-Marathon – 06:45
Full Marathon – 07:00
Hand-Bicycle Race – 7:30
5km – 08:00
Community 800m race – 08:45
10km – 09:30/09:45/10:00
Family Race – 10:00
Mayor Barkat will fire the starting pistol on both the full and half marathon races.
