Delays are being reported at LaGuardia Airport as crews work to fix damage to part of a runway.

A Port Authority spokesman says a departing aircraft reported seeing pavement damage on a runway Wednesday afternoon.

He says emergency crews were working to repair the surface layer of a section of the pavement.

The Federal Aviation Administration website reported arrival delays of up to 45 minutes and departure delays of over an hour.

The runway was expected to reopen Wednesday night.
