It is with a profound sense of hope for our Nation’s future and the world that I extend my warmest wishes for a sweet New Year, or Shana Tova, to Jewish Americans celebrating Rosh Hashanah. Rosh Hashanah marks the start of a period of deep reflection and spiritual renewal for Jews in Brooklyn and around the world that culminates with Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement.

Every year during the High Holiday season, families, friends and communities come together before God to renew their commitment to the core Jewish values of kindness, charity and social justice.
