Haifa Mayor Yonah Yahav met with the Seret-Vishnitz Rebbe Shlita for 40 minutes. According to a Ladaat report, the mayor updated the Rebbe on City Hall’s efforts on behalf of the chareidi community. The city recently invested over NIS 1 million to refurbish a playground in the chareidi area.

The report states the mayor did not visit the mayor last year, with the realization following elections that the frum residents of the city did not support his election bid. It appears that now, there is a mending of fences and the mayor deemed it proper to meet with the Rebbe before Rosh Hashanah.
