The matter of the Minister of Education’s Chareidi Division has been brought to the attention of gedolei yisrael and a letter in the name of HaGaon HaRav Aharon Yehuda Leib Shteinman Shlita appears in the chareidi media on Tuesday, 28 Adar-I.

An urgent meeting on the matter was already held in the Gqadol Hador’s home, a meeting attended by roshei yeshivos and MK Gafne, and it was decided that there may not be any level of cooperation with the ministry’s chareidi unit and educational institutions as clearly, the ministry is trying to influence the curriculum of these schools in contradiction to the instructions of gedolei yisrael.

The Rosh Yeshiva has been given firsthand reports of ministry interference and the roshei yeshiva explained a red line was crossed that demands a response. The latest letter confirms Rav Gafne is acting as a shaliach for gedolei yisrael and upon his instruction, no one in any school, without exception, is to cooperate with the ministry and its officials in any capacity. This includes all inspectors sent to check cheiders and talmidei torah around the country.

This ban on cooperation however does not pertain to “technical cooperation” such as completing forms to renew a school’s license.
