There was no agreement reached on key issues following the Tuesday morning Jerusalem meeting between Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and US special Mideast envoy George Mitchell that would permit a trilateral meeting in the United Nations next week when Mr. Netanyahu will be attending the General Assembly along with US President Barak Obama and PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas (Abu Mazen).
The prime minister is signaling a willingness to comply with a six-month construction freeze throughout Yehuda and Shomron, but rejects placing any restrictions on construction in the capital. America appears unyielding in its effort to box Israel into a construction freeze, with the PA enjoying sitting at along the sidelines, announcing it will not enter into renewed diplomatic talks with Israel until Jerusalem adheres to the White House demands.
Netanyahu is seeking a compromise formula with the Americans, wishing to avoid a confrontation, but aware he cannot comply with the unrealistic demands made by the Obama administration.
In the meantime, there is growing criticism over the blatant involvement of the United States in Israel’s internal matters, with many stating no American president ever dared to boldly make the demands announced by President Obama, whose policies seem to be far friendlier to Israel’s enemies than they are to Jerusalem.

they only “seem” to be when will we start calling it as it is fair and balanced doesn’t mean say it softly

agree with #1 seeing an israeli pol with backbone is refreshing even if not done all the way
we stand to gain in the long run by holding firm not by partial agreements, time and again cont. to feed the myth and illusion of peace

The supposed pro-democracy Obama mixes in DESPITE the fact that Israel freely and openly voted in Netanyahu to play exactly the role that he is playing now. Contrast this with the soft-pedaling, deferential approach to dictatorial, fraudulent election Iran, where Obama PUBLICLY referred to its chief dictator as “the supreme leader”
