Poll: Corzine Narrows Christie’s Lead In NJ Race

nje1.jpgA new poll finds Democratic Gov. Jon Corzine narrowing Republican Chris Christie’s lead in New Jersey’s gubernatorial race.

Of likely voters surveyed in the Monmouth University/Gannett New Jersey Poll out, 47 percent Sunday supported Christie, while 39 percent favored Corzine and 5 percent backed independent Chris Daggett.

Christie’s 8-point advantage is in line with other recent polls, but also portrays a tighter race than a month ago, when the same pollsters found Christie was 14 points ahead. And most respondents in the new poll don’t believe either candidate has given a clear idea of what he’d do as governor.

The latest poll of 752 registered voters was conducted between Sept. 8-10. It has an error margin of plus or minus 3.6 percentage points.

Voters go to the polls Nov. 3 to decide the race.

  1. A vote for Tax & Spend Corzine is a vote for Obama. Keep that in mind when going to the polls, HKBH should help NJ’ites to rid themselves of Corzine.

  2. whats more the democrats are looking specifically at the NJ race to determine if they still have the popular vote and if the republicans win that will be a blow to the confidence of grand czar obama. the polls can then only go down further for him and pressure him not to make silly decisions that will invariably affect us for perhaps many decades.
