The Goldstone Committee report, based on the UN’s investigation into the IDF counter-terror operation in Gaza, Operation Cast Lead, will be released in the coming days. The report is expected to bring more trouble for Israel, possibly recommendations to file charges against Israel and senior officials in the International Court in The Hague.

The committee is headed by a Jewish judge from South Africa, Richard Goldstone. The committee is acting on a mandate of the UN’s Human Rights Commission in Geneva, known for its anti-Israel position. Israel has refused to cooperate with the committee because it accepts the lies and propaganda from Hamas, apparently not genuinely interested in uncovering the truth.

That being the case, officials are concerned a damaging report may serve as a foundation for lawsuits against Israel and leaders for war crimes.
