Mrs. Shaina Chaya Kugel A”H was niftar during the night between motzei Shabbos and Sunday 19 Adar-I in a hospital after being admitted as a result of contracting the flu. Mrs. Kugel, 38, from Modi’in Illit was a mother of seven.
She was admitted to Mayanei HaYeshua Hospital in Bnei Brak about two months ago where she was diagnosed with swine flu. People around the world have been mispallel on her behalf since.
Realizing her condition worsened, members of the family on motzei Shabbos were mispallel at the Kosel. They were called to the hospital from the Kosel by hospital officials.
The nifteres was born in Bnei Brak to family Rotenberg. She is survived by her husband Rav Tuvia and their children.

BDE.
I remember back in the day, the Zionists were saying, “Come to Israel, American Jews – the swine flu will kill you all if you stay in chutz la’aretz.” Ironic.
Moral of the story is, nowhere is safe.
Bookworm, this tragedy, one more in this crazy chain of tragedies, has a few lessons. But I don’t think any of them is that nowhere is safe. Hashem sees if you are zoche to be safe and you have to take precautions as are humanly possible, wherever you are. The gedolim past and present – representatives of Hashem’s Torah for us, have always reminded us that these events must to prompt us to do teshuva – each for what he/she knows individually must be improved, to promote extreme ahavas yisroel, eliminate the gehinnom in this world called lashon hara, daven like crazy every day as if there is an emergency, because clearly there is one. We are in galus, folks. Every day hangs in the balance. We are as safe as Hashem wants us to be. Eretz Yisrael is not meakev. This eim beyisrael lived in a state of kedushas yishuv haaretz every day pf her life. Daven for her husband and children!
BDE. The moral of the story is – look how many people took on davenning for the nifteress! What a zchut! It is a terrible tragedy, her devastated family will need a lot of support, but look at the good that came out of this terrible situation.
Mrs. D. is right, we ARE in Galus even as we live in Eretz HaKodesh. We cannot stop for one second in demanding the Aibishter brings Moshiach. May the nifteress continue her work in Olam Haba as she did in Olam Hazeh.
