The terrorist who perpetrated the axe terror attack in Maale Adumim last week has been apprehended. The terrorist, Saadi Ali Hamad, was employed in the shopping center where he perpetrated the attack. He fled the scene and a manhunt was launched.
On Sunday morning 19 Adar-I, the ISA (Israel Security Agency – Shin Bet) announced the arrest of the 22-year-old suspect, Saadi Ali Hamad, a resident of Azariya, which is adjacent to Maale Adumim. He is believed to have perpetrated the attack in Tzvika Cohen, a security guard, was beaten with an axe. He also made off with his pistol.
The victim in the attack, Tzvika ben Batya remains in very serious condition in a neurological intensive care unit in Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital. He is medically sedated and connected to a mechanical respirator and the family calls on the tzibur to be mispallel on his behalf.
Police announce Arab laborers will be barred from Maale Adumim until Thursday, 24 Adar-I with the exclusion of “essential workers”.
