  1. Baruch Dayan Emes. Esther was the daughter of Avi Kenig. The levayah is at Waldheim Cemetary at 1. The child was released by the M.E. to Chevra Kadisha, the WBBM report was incorrect.

Nothing more should be said about this tragedy. Shalom V’Shalva should return to our city.

  2. Girl’s mother is Nechama Kenig, daughter of Victor and Rita Katz, long time Chicagoans. Levaya details are still pending. If you know anything about Chicago, getting gravediggers on a legal holiday is not so easy.

  3. Hashem Yirachem aleinu,

I cringe every time I see children(or adults) riding bikes and not stopping at the alleys, or even slowing down! Likewise,I am angered when I see vehicles shooting out of alleys without stopping, slowing down, or honking.

DRIVERS – Please, please, please, come to a complete stop and inch forward slowly when emerging from an alley. We’ve all had close calls, and you WILL hit someone if you’re not careful.

PARENTS – Please, please, please, teach your children to stop their bicycles at ALL alleys, and carefully check for traffic, just as they would stop at a street.

Let’s do our part to prevent this type of senseless tragedy.
