In the beginning of February, a 65-year-old southern area kibbutz residents was moderately wounded in a terror attack. She was stabbed by an Arab terrorist in the Bedouin community of Rahat while shopping on Shabbos. The attacker fled the scene.

According to the Negev police spokesman’s report, the suspect in custody is a 17.5-year-old PA (Palestinian Authority) resident from Yata, in the Hebron area. The suspect was arrested in his home on February 10, 2016. It appears he was in Green Line Israel illegally, seeking day jobs and found employment in Rahat.

His employer, the Rahat family, was unaware he perpetrated the attack. During the interrogation he explained the events and led police to the knife used, which someone gave him.
