A baggage inspector at S’dei Dov Airport was surprised when x-raying baggage of a passenger traveling from Tel Aviv to Eilat. The inspector found a hand grenade, magazines for an unspecified gun and dozens shotgun shells in the woman’s baggage, an Eilat resident.
When asked the woman said she was not carrying anything that is prohibited but the x-ray told a different story.
As soon as the grenade was spotted security protocol was activated and a police bomb-demolition technician was summoned.
The Airports Authority calls on all passengers to check baggage before packing for any trip, domestic and international flights, as in this case it appears the women was clueless to the presence of the items mentioned.
