Following the meeting with representatives of the Israeli and American Reform Movement with Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu on Monday, 13 Adar-I, President Reuven Rivlin will be meeting with them next, sometime this week.
Clearly the high-level meetings signal an unwelcome change in government policy vis-à-vis non-Orthodox streams of Judaism, which were not given official recognition in the past.
According to the current schedule for the president, Mr. Rivlin will be meeting with Reform Movement officials including male and female ‘rabbis’, on Thursday, 16 Adar-I at 7:00AM. They meeting comes as the movement is hosting its second annual General Assembly.
Director of the Reform Movement in Israel, Gilad Kariv calls the ongoing process “historic”, acknowledging that for the first time in the State of Israel’s history non-Orthodox streams are receiving official recognition. He stated they view this a “first step and not the last towards equality for all streams and public recognition for there is no one way to be Jewish”.
Rick Jacobs, President of the Union for Reform Judaism explains “Diaspora Jewry supports the State of Israel and views the process, the area at the Kosel and the High Court ruling regarding mikvaos as an important step to make Israel home for Diaspora Jewry”.

It seems that people are ignoring this problem. We need a strong leader to give us direction on combating the deform epidemic.
As long as it doesn’t affect the average frum Jew in Chutz, it seems there is a general apathy to these frightening developments.
Or perhaps this is the last stand for the yeitzer hora, before mosiach arrives.
Any thoughts?
wow.. Reform is on a roll. No one seems to care. I guess it will hit people when there is no more mechitzas anywhere in Israel, and people are eating pork served @ Rabbi Suzan’s shul.
The math is easy: Take frum infighting and disunity, add the amazing achtus by the the deform movement, sprinkle in some “funding”, and this equals the deform having us in a chokehold.
does anyone care?
Foreboding ..
I’ve argued with fellow Reform Jews asking what they really observe or need. When you think about it, it’s really shocking! They don’t keep kosher, so no need for kosher establishments. They don’t observe Shabbos, so no need for purchasing challah, Kiddush cup, or flowers for the Shabbos table. Most holidays are minimally observed, so no need for a sukkah, matzos, etc. Their Temple observance is so slim, that they can fit everyone in a basement “minyan”. When a sect of a nation wants such big pieces of the cookie, but already has a hard time eating their small piece, why would they want more?
It is better to leave them alone….look at it as a passing fancy they do not believe in any thing that is related to the Beth Hamikdosh their prayer book omits all mentioned of the return to Zion they dance with the torah that they do not listen too.In the 19 century in Germani they wrote about Jerusalem …it is an exalted memory of the past…..there is no hope in In it for the future…a New life will not born there let us not disturb its rest…..so why are they Suddenly fighting for it?they used to call themself germans of mosaic faith..maybe germany teached them a lesson?now they are american of mosaic faith.somehow these Poor people arte left with nothing…..they have to find something at least to have a certain credibility….the wisest thing is to ignore them…the biggest punishment they can get.
Reform is not Judaism.
#1& #2,
Well Said
(‘add the amazing achtus by the the deform movement’ achdus by catering to the lowest common denominator possible
‘sprinkle in’ MASSIVE and MORE MASSIVE “funding”’)
What do you propose?
Rivlin ,said IN THE PAST THAT REFORM IS A DIFFERENT RELIGION
He should say it again
