In a Hadassah Medical Organization spokesman’s office message to the media, Spokeswoman Hadar Elboim reports that as part of standard weekly testing conducted in Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital, a “resistant bacteria” was detected in the feces of two infants being treated in a preemie unit of the hospital.
The report adds there is no evidence of any active disease in the unit and it is pointed out the infants both have ongoing complicated medical conditions.
As soon as the resistant bacteria was detected thorough testing was conducted of the entire unit, including mothers, and B”H everything was negative as no one appears to be a carrier. The infants have been placed in isolation in line with protocol.
In addition, Health Ministry officials were notified as per regulations.
