The committee decided they will call on Arab municipalities to observe a general strike to mark the day in an act of protest over what they view as Israel’s discriminatory policies towards the Israeli Arab community. MK (Hadash) Mohammad Barakeh announced of late, there has been an escalation in the anti-Arab sentiment. He accuses the current administration of increased discrimination against Israeli Arab residents and communities.
