The strike called on Tuesday by Jerusalem municipal workers continues today, Wednesday, with strike leaders demanding improved conditions for the many manpower agency employees. While City Hall announces schools will operate without interruption, union officials have instructed kindergarten personnel to send children home in facilities in which assistants are taking part in the strike, explaining one teacher cannot responsibly oversee too many children.
Garbage collection will be suspended for a second day, and municipal inspectors responsible for issuing parking summonses will not be out in the streets.
