President Obama is having one bad summer.
Only 46 percent approve of the job Obama is doing — a 19-point slide since he took over the White House from President Bush in January, according to a Rasmussen Reports daily presidential tracking poll released today.
The new poll numbers represent the lowest level of total approval yet measured for Obama.
Fifty-three percent disapprove of the job he is doing.
With the war in Afghanistan worsening and the president pushing for an overhaul of the health-care system that includes a government-run insurance program, voters have become increasingly disenchanted with Obama over the past few weeks.
Differences of opinion, however, come down across party lines as 81 percent of Democrats approve of the job Obama is doing, according to Rasmussen.
By comparison, 83 percent of Republicans disapprove.
Nowhere has that loss of confidence been as profound as it has been among highly valued independent voters.
Among those who are not part of either party, a whopping 66 percent disapprove of the job Obama is doing, according to the poll.
The Rasmussen Reports poll also found that 55 percent of those polled believe that the war in Afghanistan will get worse during the next six months.
That’s a 14-point jump since the beginning of the month and represents in how the White House is managing the “War on Terror.”

AAAAAAWWWWWWW!!!!! Is his little feelings hurt? Is he going to moderate his positions?
Who cares? The next election (except for Virginia, New Jersey and Massachusetts) isn’t for another
14 months. He has at least that long to either get his act together or shoot himself in the foot.
Tracking polls are somewhat irrelevant at this point.
1, he is probably too arrogant to believe people are not happy with him.
nice to see the country waking up to this rosha!
To YWN: Perfect title to this article!

wait— the opposition has not been silenced yet…
It’s funny, just a little while ago I remember a certain republican president with far worse ratings, and this entire site defending him, because “at least he’s doing what he thinks is right.”

“Is his little feelings hurt?”
Must we discuss politics as 2nd graders?
To #9: Sounds reasonable, particularly when talking about a 2nd-grade president.
OTB = One Term Barack!
MR justajew,
First let me express my deepest sympathies for anyone that is closely associated with you. Second I will say this, and please don’t undermine me by thinking I mean anything short of what I write. hitler, stalin, goering, eichman and saddam did not believe for one fleeting moment that what they were doing was wrong or animalistic. Nor did they have regret for their actions! And forgive the good nation of Judaism for protecting a man who from the beginning of his presidency protected our wishes and our beliefs! The day will come when you’ll wish you hadn’t pulled that lever with Hussein obama next to it!! ( And I use his middle name for 2 reasons a) to equate him to the aforementioned dictators b) bec, YES, we must discuss this man in second graders terms!)

Thanks for the personal insults. You are an exemplary yid.
If you read carefully what I wrote, you will see that I was not defending Obama for doing what he believed is correct. This is obviously never a defense – “good intentions” paves the road…
What I was saying is that the irony is thick – while you whoop it up that the president’s approval ratings are falling, you quickly forget that just a few months ago, the entire site defended GWB’s low ratings, stating that they made no difference, and he is a better person for forging ahead despite ratings.
Now all of a sudden, these approval ratings have some sort of meaning. Enjoy it, throw candy, shoot guns into the air. But among you are many silent ones, the ones who are out of work and thankful that Obama has extended Cobra benefits. The ones whose child is turning 25, and has no health coverage. The ones who are thankful that Obama didn’t respond to the financial crisis with a “pull yerself up by yer bootstraps” attitude.
Yes, the president has many flaws, and his policies are far from perfect. You can criticize constructively, explain what you would do differently.
Or you can behave like a child, with silly nicknames, ad hominem attacks, and comments that would embarrass your mother were they ever made public. I implore you to take a higher road than the one displayed far too often on a site such as this.
I love when the self appointed spokesmen for the “Yeshiva World” uses a Paul Simon song as a headline for an article!
MR justajew, understand this: I will personally insult any defender of a man who if given the authority, would exile each and every one of us! Enough with “the high road” and “rising above”. Listen, clearly this is a site and we are a people that you resent. Yes, you put it in diplomatic terms and sugar coat it with fancy vinacular, however your words are just as bad as man. While I knock one particular individual (you) you have taken to tearing apart the very fabric of our religion; unity!! The very make up of your comments shows to whom you pledge your alegience.and The only issue I have with this site is that they don’t edit comments such as yours! MAB/
justajew, I think you need to develop a sense of humor or get a life. But, you have betrayed your liberal, left-wing leanings.
How come only Republicans like me or attacked for being petty and childish when the President is not attacked for sending in thugs from the S.E.I.U. and A.C.O.R.N. to intimidate protesters at townhall meetings? Isn’t that being hypocritical?
Thank you #14 for letting me know that this is the case. Without you I would have been spared that knowledge.

Just so I’m clear – you think that Obama is equal to Hitler, he wants to “exile each and every one of us” – meaning Jews? Israelis? I’m curious how deep your paranoia and lies really go.
And to say that I am “tearing apart the very fabric of our religion” by disagreeing with you is ludicrous. If anything, our religion is based on disagreement and debate. Just because you choose to believe whatever nonsense you hear at shul doesn’t mean that I am less Jewish than you for having a different point of view.

These are strong accusations – I’m sure you have some valid sources? Or are you just repeating an oft-repeated lie by a right-wing blogger who pretended to have seen an email from the White House that didn’t really exist?

Not sure if you mean the first half or second of my comment. Happy oblivion, and a Kesiva VeChasima Tova
justajew, go check out YouTube and you will see that African-American conservative being beaten up in St. Louis. I did. I saw it on YouTube.
So, who is accusing who. Myself or self-hating Jews like Rahm Emanuel, Ezekiel Emanuel, and David Axelrod?

Forgive me. I fail to understand any portion of your comment.
