The Knesset has allocated NIS 4 million for renovations o the parliament building’s old wing. Lifts will be installed in the plenum to permit wheelchair bound MKs to make their way to the podium unassisted.

The meat kitchen is undergoing a major overhaul as well to bring it up to current Health Ministry standards. In addition, the areas of the opposition leader and foreign minister are being redone, bringing it to a standard that will enable them to entertain foreign dignitaries without the added expense of utilizing hotels. Seat cushions in the guest area are being replaced too, after about 40 years of service.
