On motzei shabbos, visitors arriving at the Tzion of Amora R’ Avdimi Dahan Haifa were shocked to see the damage from a vandalism attack. They immediately summoned HaRav Yisrael Kopel, a Chief Rabbinate representative responsible for the area, who in turn summoned police to report the outrageous attack.

Ladaat.net reports R’ Kopel spoke of “sifrei kodesh thrown on the ground, tzedaka boxes broken open and the money stolen and the mechitza destroyed”.

Police are investigating. Rabbonim are calling for increased police patrols for kivrei tzaddikim.
