There are calls to boycott the Swedish IKEA store in Netanya following the outrageous reports in the Swedish media that IDF soldiers murder PA residents for their organs. The Netanya store is the only IKEA branch in Israel.
As of Monday morning (Israel time), over 10,000 signatures have been collected calling to ban Swedish products in Israel due to the media reports against Israel, and the failure of Swedish officials to issue a retraction, opting to stand behind freedom of speech and permitting the accusations to remain undisputed by the Swedish government.

Okay, I’ll tell you why it’s significant. First of all this is about a blood libel (remember these, they led to pogroms) not even officially remarked on by the Swedish government, who are now outdoing the German government in the antisemitism category.
It is not about drinking soda or sitting on a sofa. It is about making the Swedes publically uncomfortable and letting other people know about this vile canard.
If you which I doubt or someone else wants to be more direct, email the Swedish embassy in Israel or the US demanding a statement of withdrawal from this blood libel ugly antisemitic series of articles. You can google them easily and the email addresses and phone numbers and street addresses are there. As to how they relate to economics, the Swedish Israeli embassy website is plastered on its index page with ads about and articles for Swedish-run companies. That should indicate how closely economics is tied to Sweden’s functioning.
Admittedly, Ikea is not a good example but it is a very good symbolic target. For the publicity value alone it should be targeted for petitions.
PS The national water carrier is doing fine, thank you. Less water used this year than last year which shows the Israelis are listening. So you do the same, and stay off that Pepsi, it’s no good for you.

you can find ‘keter’ brand plastic furniture in almost every home,yeshiva or shul in israel. the factory is open on shabbos.
charlie hall, what makes you think IKEA is Dutch-owned? It is very proudly Swedish. Also, its Swedish owner was a Nazi in his teenage years, from 1945-1948, when everyone knew quite well what Nazidom had done.
In addition, it’s not as ridiculous as you think to boycott Ford/Volvo. Henry Ford, after all, was a notorious anti-Semite and propogator of the Protocols of the Elders of Zion.
