Snow showers through Tuesday could bring at least 1-3 inches of snow to the area and even more south and west.
In New York, there were several schools that announced a delayed start on Tuesday.
WABC Meteorologist Bill Evans said we are looking at snow showers Tuesday but no accumulation. Tuesday night and Wednesday morning, we are looking at accumulating snow, and expect very bitter Arctic air for the weekend — the coldest of the season.
A winter weather advisory is in effect through Wednesday morning for portions of northern, central and southern Jersey.
On Monday, parts of eastern Long Island received up to 6 inches of snow. A couple of inches also fell in parts of Connecticut. While the snow was generally light, driving conditions were hazardous.
