Betar Mayor Meir Rubinstein, who also heads the Forum of Chareidi Municipalities, met with Minister for Social Equality (Likud) Gila Gamliel. They discussed stepping up activities of this ministry in Betar Illit as well as other chareidi communities.

The ministry has a program that focuses on assisting the young and the elderly but this program to date, has not been introduced in the chareidi community and Mayor Rubinstein called on Minister Gamliel to do just that.

Based on the data presented by Rubinstein, Betar is a relatively young community but it has its share of elderly citizens too.

It was decided that the ministry would be cooperating with Betar and other chareidi communities towards funding an office to assist senior citizens.
