Amid a number of setbacks and a mounting feud, a big sign of progress will finally be made at the World Trade Center Site today.
Construction workers are installing the largest steel columns to date at One World Trade Center.
The Port Authority says the 24 columns will allow the initial floors of the tower to be built. Each column weighs about 70 tons and is roughly 60 feet long.
Last week, developer Larry Silverstein took his impasse with the Port Authority to binding arbitration, which could add months to the rebuilding process.
