Taking a break from summer vacation, Knesset Finance Committee Chair MK Moshe Gafne convened a session in which funds were approved for chareidi mosdos. Budgets approved include funds for Chinuch Atzmai, dormitories, and Jewish cultural activities.
A portion of the approved funds were part of a coalition agreement hammered out with Yahadut HaTorah, the daily HaMevaser reports. NIS 40 million was approved for Chinuch Atzmai, NIS 23 million for seminaries, NIS 32 for dormitories, and NIS 7 for cultural activities.
Gafne explained that he called for the meeting during the summer break due to the importance of the funding ahead of the start of the new academic year.
