FM Lieberman: The Palestinians Buried Peace Efforts

Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman stated on Monday that following the Fatah Assembly hosted in Bet Lechem, it is evident that the PA (Palestinian Authority) has buried any chance of reaching a peace agreement with Israel in the coming years.

The senior minister opted to make his remarks to democratic congressmen, explaining at present, there is not one unified PA body representing all PA residents, but there is Hamastan and Fatahland in Gaza and Yehuda and Shomron respectively. Therefore he explains, there is no one entity representing the PA in talks.

Lieberman added that following the assembly, we have learned the so-called PA moderate in Ramallah remain tenacious in demands for a Palestinian right of return, Jerusalem to serve as the Palestinian capital, and the Fatah organization’s unwillingness to recognize Israel as a Jewish democratic nation.
