Sometime following the chagim (Rosh Hashanah, Yom Kippur and Sukkot), Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu is expected to head a major delegation to India, a delegation that will include many prominent members of the business and hi-tech communities. The last visit to India by a prime minister was in 2003, Ariel Sharon.
At the end of August, the prime minister is scheduled to make visits to Berlin and London, where he will meet with state leaders. His visits are viewed as part of ongoing efforts to persuade the international community to step up economic sanctions on Iran if diplomatic efforts fail. In London, the prime minister is also scheduled to meet with US Mideast envoy George Mitchell.
In September, the prime minister is expected to lead the Israeli delegation attending the UN General Assembly in New York City.
