Report: Offer for Meah Shearim Mom to Move to England

According to a report appearing in the daily Yisrael HaYom newspaper, the controversial Meah Shearim mother suspected of starving her son is being offered a deal to relocate to England with her family after the case is completed.

As was reported by YWN Israel earlier today, the toddler child who was released from Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital was transferred to a hospital in the center of the country was released on erev shabbos and he is now living with an uncle in Ramat Beit Shemesh.

The report adds that the mother’s father-in-law, a resident of the UK, is pushing to have the family relocate from Eretz Yisrael.

Also reported in media in Israel on Sunday is the fact that the prosecution continues to signal that a “serious indictment” against the mother will be filled shortly.

Yisrael HaYom adds that last week, Eida Chareidis Gavaad HaRav Yitzchak Tuvia Weiss Shlita met with nationally prominent attorney Yaakov Weinrot, signaling the Eida’s concerns regarding a possible criminal trial. Weinrot’s name is known in Israel and he is ranked as among the most prominent trial attorneys.

It is being reported that Weinrot agreed to take the case, sending a clear message to the state that this will not be a pushover conviction.

Fundraising efforts in the kehillah in Eretz Yisrael and N. America are underway to cover the expected legal expenses of a criminal trial.

The mother was questioned by Jerusalem police once again on Sunday, with police reporting she remained silent, unwilling to respond to the questions of investigators.

  1. The police continue to ‘leak’ to the media in hopes of getting the women to sign a confession. Should this come to trial, the truth will come to light, something the State is trying hard to avoid.

  2. What about the welfare of the child (and the other children?)?How is going to the U.K. going to make things better? The 3-year -old WAS mistreated, seemingly.

  3. RE comment number 2 above.
The truth rarely, if ever, shows its face in an Israeli court. Or an American one for that matter.
Time to wake up and really see what is going on. Moshiachtzeit! Big time!

  4. a deal to “let her move to egland”???? who exactly does someone need permission from to leave is this soviot russia?

  5. She is at risk from the government and its agents working against Torah observant Jews, as long as she remains.

  6. I personally know the family in England, very special warm people. That sounds like a good idea they’ll help her and the kids alot.

  7. Oh, the family is ALWAYS very warm & special. Whenever there’s a scandal involving Frum yidden, the family is always warm, special, Baalei Tzedaka, ehrliche, Baalei Chesed etc etc etc. How about they are just regular folk? Let’s not grant anyone sainthood. it’s got to the stage of overkill.

Having said that, this child is better off in EY. The NHS in UK won’t do anything to help him & unless someone coughs up money for private treatment he won’t get help. And neither will his mother.

And what if she really has this “Münchhausen-by-proxy-syndrome”?

In this case, she could start everything over again, because no-one in UK knows about her record… This would be a real risk for her children, if she has Münchhausen by proxy.

Will the mother in law be attentive enough to react in time????
