The cabinet on Sunday 22 Teves, during its weekly meeting approved the appointment of Avichai Mandelblit as Israel’s new attorney general.
Last week, the Supreme Court rejected two petitions seeking to block his appointment, clearing the way for the cabinet approval.
Mandelblit, who served in the IDF for decades, left at the rank of major-general, reaching the position of the military’s chief prosecutor. He has been serving a cabinet secretary and is among those closest to Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu.
The left-wing is up in arms for Mandelblit is a frum Jew and this appointment follows the appointment of a number of Shomer Shabbos Jews to high posts of late; including head of the ISA (Israel Security Agency – Shin Bet), the Mossad, and Israel Police.

Mazal Tov. So now the AG as well as the Chiefs of the Mossad, the Shabak and the Police are observant Jews.
Who cares whether or not he is shomer Shabbos? He is not being appointed as mashgiach ruchani for a kollel or the legal officer of a beis din. He is the nation’s top legal officer and Mandelbit has an outstanding reputation as a good lawyer and manager. Thats what is important for the AG job, not his hashkafah or whether he drinks cholov yisroel with his coffee.

Until now the judicial system in Israel had a terrible bias against religious jews maybe now it will change. That is good news

Fool ,do you really need to expose yourself once more?
Does the experiences of the last scores of years prove that a personality change has been badly needed?
