is this also affecting the westbound (up to the country?. Does anyone know any ways to get around this? I have someone leaving now from the Catskills back to NY
Take the 42 south to Port Jervis, take the 6 for about a mile to the south 23 continue on the 23 south for 40 miles until the 46 east, that should take you into the 3 to the Lincoln Tunnel.
Please, please update when you can. Thank you.
1, you didnt say from where so here goes:
They could take rt 52 east all the way to the NY thruway then take the thruway south.
They could take rt 209 south (exit 113) to Port Jervis. In Port Jervis take US-6 east for 1.5 miles to NJ-23 into New Jersey. Take Rt 23 south for about 47 miles to I-80. From there you could follow signs for rt46 to rt3 for the Lincoln Tunnel or just about anywhere.
BTW, NY-42 south goes to Port Jervis too.
This is why when you post you need to be clear so someone could help you.
No it bareley affects the west bound I just came up from monsey but if any1 knows if it cleared up plz keep us informed
17K starts at exit 116 or 117 and goes to Newburgh NY where you can connect to the Thruway or 17M connects to the Jersey 17 through Sloatsburg
To the Honorable Mark Levine,
The 80 takes you to the GWB, taking the South23 to the 46E will take you straight into the Lincoln.
Taking exit 113 to Jervis is much longer then the 42 south which from Monticello is just 21 miles.
Actually from Monticello to Boro Park using the routh I mentioned is only 106 miles.
Using the 17/Thruway/Palisades is almost the same.
However, the South 23 is extremely winding and it passes through some Jersey town with traffic lights. In some ateas it’s impossible to drive fater than 35mph unless you are suicidal.
One more thing…
When using the route I mentioned do not use your GPS, the dummy computer will keep on schlepping you off the 23.
Mark Levin, I remember a while back you were jobless for a while, if that is still the case, you might want to apply for a job at one of the traffic centers, either 1010 WINS or WCBS880. They are looking for experienced traffic maivinim
9,
jobless?
of the 2 stations you mentioned 1010wins traffic doesn’t believe in the other side of the Hudson River.
HNBNY,
You are correct about taking 42 to Pt Jervis however the poster only gave vague to/from info so it was difficult.
80 does go the GWB and when you are at the junction of 23/46/80 you have more of a choice of where to go, i.e., Lincoln, Holland, GWB, Verrazano (soi?), etc.
You are correct about the road which is why I really would end up on US206 to Rt 15 to I-80. I’ve done this way and its really not bad at all — especially when you are just about the only chuchem.
Bottom line is for road assistance, please enter as much info as you can.
Hey, isn’t anyone concerned about the poor soul who was killed?
Police have identified Eileen Darnley, 46, of Otisville as the victim of Friday morning’s fatal crash between a pickup truck and a pedestrian on Route 17.
Police said Darnley’s 3-year-old son, who was safely in a car seat in Darnley’s 2007 Hyundai Accent, was unhurt.
State police said Darnley hed been driving eastbound on Route 17 when the car veered off the roadway and hit the center median guide rail a little before 11 a.m., just west of Exit 126 in the Town of Chester.
Police said Darnley got out of the car, but left her son who was properly secured in a child safety seat in the car’s back seat. Police said witnesses saw Darnley cross 17 Eastbound several times on foot. She was walking in the driving lane when she was hit by a 2005 Chevrolet pickup truck driven by Arthur Henn, 63, of Montague, N.J.
Darnley was pronounced dead at the scene.
Witnesses took Darnley’s son from her car and took care of him until he was taken to Orange Regional Medical Center’s Arden Hill Campus in Goshen. There, police said, he was turned over to family.
State police closed down 17 Eastbound for a little over an hour during the crash investigation. The investigation is ongoing.

R Gluck – I think that perhaps you are confusing the user with the name mark levine with another user on the boards.
Mark Levine, how do I get to the US206 from Kiamisha or Monticello?
Wow, what talmidim of Avrohom Avinu we are – someone is killed and so long as it’s not a Yid, all we can talk about is the traffic.
#16.
Do you want to go to her funeral?
I have the church’s address.
To #17 – Ask your Rav if your attitude is the correct one. — very sad.
I cannot believe how so many people missed the point here. The point of this site is primarily Jewish news thus a highway closure on one of busiest highways for yiddin this time of year ESPECIALLY on a Friday, IS BIG NEWS!
#1 posted about direction and they were answered accordingly. There are many alternate ways to travel to/from the ‘skills and we were were happy to give over that info.
It is some other people who for some reason think that was a waste of time and we should have been lamenting the fact that someone was killed on 17.
Ok so lets get that part over with. 1, 2, 3, OY!
