Dozens of veteran eastern Jerusalem business owners are planning to request financial aid from City Hall as the ongoing wave of Palestinian terror attacks has destroyed their businesses. At present, this pertains primarily to businesses belonging to members of the Armenian and Christian communities who own businesses near Shar Shechem. Prior to the beginning of the current wave of terror, which began on erev Rosh Hashanah 5776, many pilgrims passed through Shar Shechem, but today, this has changed. The Old City gate is viewed as too dangerous by most, preferring to detour to Shar Yaffo while unfortunately, many have removed the Old City from their itinerary.
The attacks at Shar Shechem and on Chaggai Street have turned the once bustling area a ghost town. Tourists are nowhere to be found.
Armenian businessman Raymond Horon, who owns a café near Shar Shechem, explains he has lost about 90% of his regular income as a result of the terror. He explains the café is empty and he does not know how much longer he can remain open without assistance.
While at present the request for government financial assistance comes from the Armenian and Christian sectors, The MyNet report adds Muslim businessmen are likely to join the effort as they too are sitting idle as the continuous terror has driven the visitors and tourists far away from their stores. They are likely to turn to different rights organizations for assistance if they feel it is required but they are likely to seeking government aid to compensate them during this difficult period.

give financial aid to these arabs who laughed and clapped when My neighbor’s daughter was running in the street with a knife in her back begging for help? NO WAY!The city says it doesn’t have money to pay city workers but has enough money to pay muslim shopkeepers who support terror? Ridiculous
